PROJECT BRIEF

Lee Kum Kee came to us with a request for quality content creation. The challenge of this scope of work was that we had to consider the client’s existing brand image and presence to create interesting, compelling and beautiful food photography. The client requested that we consider the following set of criteria when creating this content:

• Maintain a commercial/universal look and avoid over-styling.
• Emphasize use of meat to highlight grilling & dipping sauces.
• Demonstrate versatility of their product in conjunction with other food.

Lee Kum Kee came to us with a request for quality content creation. The challenge of this scope of work was that we had to consider the client’s existing brand image and presence to create interesting, compelling and beautiful food photography. The client requested that we consider the following set of criteria when creating this content:

• Demonstrate versatility of their product in conjunction with other food.

PROCESS

I researched the client’s existing brand image and collateral and examined the best way to elevate their content through premium food photography. I thought the best way to do so was create a balance of minimal, yet strategically styled photos that best highlighted the recipes. The budget was larger than most— allowing us to select higher quality ingredients to craft the dishes. As a result, I was able to work with the chef to create recipes that incorporated a variety of premium meats. However, the range of recipes we could create still proved to be limiting due to the heavy focus on meat, forcing a more creative solution for the imagery. In the end, I believe we were able to execute to exceed the client’s expectations.
